We are looking for a meticulous and user-obsessed UI/UX Tester to join our early-stage team. In this role, you will be the ultimate advocate for our users, ensuring that our platform is intuitive, bug-free, and visually flawless across all devices. You will work closely with our design and development teams to identify friction points in the user journey—from the moment a user uploads their old resume to the second they download their AI-enhanced masterpiece.
Because we are an early-stage startup, this is a purely equity-based role. You will be coming in as a core contributor with a real stake in the company's success and the opportunity to grow into a leadership position as we secure funding and scale.
Key Responsibilities
Usability Testing: Navigate the platform as a real user would. Test the end-to-end flow of uploading, generating, editing, and exporting resumes to identify UX friction points.
Cross-Device & Browser Testing: Ensure the platform looks and functions perfectly across various browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) and devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
UI Defect Reporting: Spot visual inconsistencies, misaligned elements, broken links, and typography errors. Document and report these bugs clearly using tools like Jira, Trello, or Linear.
Accessibility (a11y) Checks: Test the platform for basic accessibility standards to ensure our tool is usable by everyone.
Feedback & Ideation: Provide constructive, actionable feedback to the design and engineering teams. Suggest UI/UX improvements that could increase user retention and conversion rates.
A/B Testing Support: Assist in monitoring and evaluating A/B tests on different dashboard layouts or AI-prompt interfaces to see which performs better with users.
What We’re Looking For
A Keen Eye for Detail: You notice when a button is 2 pixels off-center or when a hex code doesn’t match the brand guidelines.
User-Centric Mindset: You possess deep empathy for the end-user and a passion for seamless digital experiences.
Basic QA Knowledge: Familiarity with creating bug reports, reproducing errors, and using standard testing or project management tools.
Communication Skills: Ability to articulate why a specific UI element feels clunky and constructively communicate that to developers and designers.
Startup DNA: You are comfortable in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where you might need to wear multiple hats.
Bonus: Previous experience testing AI tools, SaaS platforms, or ed-tech/career-tech products.
Bonus: Familiarity with Figma, browser developer tools, or automated testing tools.
