About
# About the Role Lumilens is revolutionizing the optical communications and photonics industry by delivering high-performance optical transceivers, modules, and networking solutions for global telecom operators and data-center providers. As part of our rapid expansion, we are excited to welcome fresh engineering graduates through our Early Talent Programme. The Software Test Automation Engineer (also known as Optical Product Test Engineer – Software Automation) will bridge the gap between software development, networking, and optical hardware testing. We are seeking talented individuals graduating in 2025-2026 from electronics, ECE, computer engineering, computer science, telecommunications, or related fields. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Python-based automation frameworks that directly interact with optical devices, network switches, and traffic generators while supporting high-volume manufacturing test stations. ## Key Responsibilities - Design and implement Python test automation frameworks for functional, regression, and performance testing of Layer-1 and Layer-2 optical systems. - Develop and execute test scripts using IXIA traffic generators to validate throughput, latency, packet loss, and error rates. - Integrate laboratory instruments (optical oscilloscopes, power meters, switches) via NI-VISA, SCPI, RS-232, or TCP/IP for automated data acquisition. - Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to debug defects, reproduce issues, and drive root-cause analysis. - Maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/ArgoCD) to trigger automated test suites on code or firmware changes. - Manage test artifacts, version control (GitHub/Bitbucket/SVN), and ensure traceability of test results. - Create and update comprehensive test documentation, including test cases, results, and defect logs. - Work with SQL/NoSQL databases to store test data and generate analytical reports for manufacturing quality. - Participate in cross-functional design reviews, providing feedback on testability and manufacturability. - Continuously explore emerging optical testing tools and propose improvements to the automation stack. ## Requirements - Proficiency in Python and experience with pytest. - Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and ArgoCD. - Experience with version control systems (GitHub, Bitbucket, SVN). - Knowledge of IXIA traffic generators and optical testing instruments (NI-VISA, SCPI, RS-232, TCP/IP). - Understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases and shell scripting. - Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities. ## Benefits - Exposure to state-of-the-art optical hardware and a fast-paced learning environment. - Opportunity to shape testing strategies for products powering global networks. - Hands-on experience with industry-grade tools and mentorship from seasoned engineers. - Clear career trajectory with the potential to progress from Associate Engineer to Senior Test Automation Engineer, Test Lead, or transition into Product Validation, R&D, or Systems Engineering roles within Lumilens.
