This internship gives students a hands-on look at the physical infrastructure behind Google’s services. Interns will work in data centers in Delhi or Mumbai alongside Operations Engineers, helping keep large-scale server and network systems running reliably.
What you’ll do
Assist with installing, de-commissioning, and upgrading servers, storage, and networking equipment Manage cables, labels, and documentation to keep topology maps accurate Diagnose hardware failures, log trends, and escalate critical issues Configure, patch, and troubleshoot Linux servers Perform preventive maintenance and document work in internal tools Support process improvements and automation of routine tasks
Who you are
Proficiency in Linux, especially Ubuntu or CentOS Basic Python skills for automation Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, and DHCP/DNS Familiarity with hardware diagnostic utilities and internal monitoring platforms Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
