This backend role is focused on core payment services, APIs, and distributed systems that power reliable, low-latency payment flows for merchants and partners, with a strong emphasis on functional programming.
What you’ll do
Design, develop, and maintain high-throughput backend services for payment orchestration, UPI integration, and tokenization Build and evolve RESTful and gRPC APIs for merchant platforms and banking partners Implement error-handling, retry mechanisms, and idempotency for transaction reliability Optimize performance through profiling, caching, and efficient data modeling Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end payment solutions Monitor production services, respond to incidents, and contribute to post-mortem analyses
Who you are
Proficiency in Java, Go, Scala, or similar service-development languages Familiarity with functional programming paradigms and libraries Experience with RESTful APIs, gRPC, microservices, Kafka, Redis, SQL, and NoSQL databases Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and Git Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of data structures and algorithms Exposure to AWS or GCP is a plus
